Things are moving fast with companies like McLaren, Volvo, BMW, and many more, using Unreal Engine for automotive visualization.
In a market that’s being flooded with similar-looking car renders (and almost all of them using the same Porsche GT3 model), there’s an opportunity to stand out by combining automotive CGI with Niagara VFX, and iterate quickly in real-time.

For the last few months I’ve been testing all different ways of setting up & animating cars, adding VFX to them, and figuring out the most time-efficient workflow to help you get cinematic results fast.
Inside the course, you will learn all the essential VFX you would expect (dust, sand, dirt, snow, sparks, electricity…) but because this is a RedefineFX course, we will then go a lot further.
You can look forward to airflow & drag simulations, dynamic trails driven by a smoke sim, intricate car reveals, exploded views, environment scanning effects & more FX yet to be revealed.
Using Niagara Fluids with animated cars poses new challenges, such as:
- Having a separate emitter under each wheel, within one simulation
- Having the car & sim move across long distances
- Combining Niagara Fluids with the Cinematic Car Rig (so the car has suspension and the FX follow)
- Smoke getting proper speed from the wheels and so on…
All of which will be covered inside with ready-to-use examples
Niagara Automotive launches next month, in April 2026, only at RedefineFX.
