I’ve been taking a deep dive into audio-drive real-time VFX with Niagara. Here are a few recent examples.
Niagara smoke sim driven by my microphone audio in real-time. The audio spectrum controls particle position, brightness, and smoke emission. In theory you could project these behind your performer / DJ for some live audio visuals. pic.twitter.com/PawDugg478

Here's a real-time audio-reactive (sound on 🔊) fire sim running in Unreal 5.6. Each of the small emitters is linked to a different frequency of the audio spectrum. I've been experimenting with audio-driven Niagara FX and will be sharing more soon. pic.twitter.com/RyTlGYd2ZJ

In this audio-driven setup, a small army of dancers moves based on the audio spectrum in real-time. When their frequency is played, they dance. When silent, they’re a frozen robot. This works with any song. Made with Niagara in Unreal Engine.
